A Message from the President

Dear Friends,

Croatia House is a not-for-profit incorporated association that was established in 2017 to promote Croatian visual and performing arts in Australia.

We recently received federal government approval to be listed on the National Register of Cultural Organisations (ROCO), allowing us to accept tax deductible donations from individuals and companies alike.

Croatia has a deep and rich history in the arts with so many world renowned artists from classical music composers, to play writers, authors, painters, sculptors, photographers, actors, opera singers and classical musicians. But, to date, very little is known about many of these individual talents, their remarkable achievements and indeed their original works.

And it is for this very reason that Croatia House exists. It is our mission to introduce to the wider Australian public, as well as 2nd and 3rd generation Australian Croatians, the wonders and beauties of our performing and visual art.

Further, through our various projects, it is our endeavour to collaborate on works and share ideas between peers and associations, in an effort to bring the two communities closer together by deepening the appreciation and love for the arts.

I would like to thank both Dr Damir Kusen, the former Ambassador of Croatia to Australia and Mr Hrvoje Petrusic, the former Consulate General of Croatia in Sydney for their vision, professionalism and passion for the arts.

Of course, none of this would be at all possible without the on-going support of the our corporate donators and contributors from around Australia. These are all mentioned on our website. Your collective support is appreciated and we thank you.

A very special acknowledgement and thank you, also to my fellow board members, Mr Walter Lyubicic and Mr Gordon Lyubicic, for their professional aptitude, persistence and dedication to the cause.

Finally, Croatia House welcomes to the Board the following admirable people; Ms Mirjana Cestar (former Liberal Councillor), Mrs Susan Cox (former Australian Ambassador to Croatia) , Mrs Romana Petrusic (Arts Director of IAC Zagreb) and Mr Jere Gasperov (Government Executive Treasury NSW). I am excited and very much look forward to working closely with you all.

Croatia House hopes to see you and your families at our next event and together with your support showcase the very best of Croatian artistic talent.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Your faithfully,

Ned Ticic

President of the Board of Directors
